What moves the price
- Distance from panel to charger — the #1 factor. More distance means more wire and conduit.
- Panel capacity — if your panel is full, you may need an upgrade or a load-management device.
- Indoor vs. outdoor — outdoor and detached-garage installs cost $200–$1,000 more.
- Hardwired vs. outlet — a NEMA 14-50 outlet can be cheaper than a hardwired unit, depending on amperage.
- Finishing — fishing wire through finished walls vs. surface conduit changes labor.

How to avoid surprise charges
The most common "surprise" is discovering mid-job that the panel can't take the new circuit. A reputable electrician checks panel capacity before quoting — not after starting. At MIZO, your free quote includes that check, and the price we give is the price you pay unless you change the scope.
Beware of quotes that seem too low to include a permit. Skipping the permit is not a saving — it is a liability that can surface when you sell the home or file an insurance claim.

Does the price include the charger itself?+
It can go either way. Some homeowners buy their own charger (e.g., a Tesla Wall Connector) and pay us for installation only; others have us supply both. We quote both ways so you can compare.
Is a 240V outlet cheaper than a hardwired charger?+
Sometimes. An outlet install can be slightly cheaper and lets you take a portable charger with you. Hardwiring supports higher amperage and is cleaner. The labor is similar; the difference is mostly the hardware.
Why is my neighbor's install cheaper than my quote?+
Almost always because their panel had spare capacity and a short run to the charger, and yours needs more wire or a panel upgrade. The house, not the charger, drives the price.
